About-Department

The Department of Botany was established in 1991 since inception. In due course time Department has grown in multiple dimensions and today it has three qualified and experienced faculty members and one laboratory attendant. We have a well-equipped laboratory with adequate modern instrument. The Department is enriched with learning resources such as charts, slides, herbarium and books which helps to the students in learning process. Botanical excursion are organized by the department to study plant wealth and ecosystem and for live field experience.

Project work are also assigned to the students in order to inculcate research values among them. Besides, the Department also arranges bridge course, student seminar, group discussion, guest lecture, visit to agriculture exhibition and research laboratory. Our department has started Departmental Library since the academic year 2009- 2010, students are taking benefit of this facility. A Wallpaper Bioworld on different aspects of Science and Technology is prepared by the student. From the academic year 2019-2020 Botany Department has started Value added course Bioprospecting of Plants to develop entrepreneurial skill among the students.

The Department is very proud that our faculty members are not only busy in providing quality education in Botany but are also actively involved in research. The faculties in the department has published in all 147 Research Papers in reputed National and International Journals, 07 books are published to their credit. All faculty members are research guides. 09 students have completed Ph.D. and 16 students are working for Ph.D. The Department has successfully completed 02 Minor Research Project funded by U.G.C. (W.R.O.) and 04 Minor Research project funded by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.

The Department organized one day e- National Seminar Recent Trends in Plant Sciences on 03 January 2021.
